What applications can the xGen Stubby Adapter and Unique Dual Index Primer Pairs be used for?

The xGen Stubby Adapter and Unique Dual Index Primer Pairs can be used in applications which utilize TA-ligation workflows such as:

  • Whole genome sequencing (WGS)
  • Detection of germline, inherited single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and insertions/deletions (indels)
  • Hybridization capture of target sequences (e.g., the exome or other regions of interest)
  • RNA-seq
  • Metagenomic sequencing
  • Methyl-Seq
    • Since the xGen Stubby Adapter is methylated but the xGen Unique Dual Index Primer Pairs are not methylated, bisulfite conversion can be carried out after the ligation step but before library amplification.

Note: Since library amplification is required to incorporate the sample indexes (see diagram below), the xGen Stubby Adapter and Unique Dual Index Primer Pairs cannot be used for PCR-free workflows.
